Social media is an incredible tool for Realtors, but it can be difficult to navigate. In this post, I’ll show you what I’ve learned about using Instagram for my real estate clients and how to use it effectively.
Intro to Instagram
Instagram is the most popular social media platform for real estate agents. It’s also owned by Facebook and has over 1 billion monthly active users, making it an obvious choice for real estate professionals who want to expand their reach and connect with more people.
If you’re new to Instagram or just looking to get started on the right foot, here are some tips:
Use hashtags often. You can also use hashtags within caption text and in comments on other users’ photos–but keep them relevant! Just because someone might use a particular word doesn’t mean all posts about that word will be relevant enough for yours; if it feels too forced, try something else! Kickin Tip: make sure you have a well-researched hashtag library!
Know your audience! Before posting a ton of random content, make sure you know who you want to talk to. This group or person is known as your “ideal client”! One of my favorite sayings is, “if you try to talk to everyone, you will talk to no one.” Kickin Tip: Try to narrow your ideal customer to one persona that you know inside and out.
Instagram Hashtags
Hashtags are words with a pound sign (#) in front of them, like #realestate or #realtor. They’re used to organize posts on social media by topic and make it easier for people to find what they’re looking for. For example, if you search for hashtags related to real estate, then all posts that use those specific hashtags will show up in your feed!
People use hashtags in two main ways: either as part of their post text or at the end after their username or location information. Using hashtags in this way can help users find your content when searching through Instagram’s Explore page–but they also come with some downsides that may not be worth the extra effort (we’ll get into those later).
If you want more visibility on Instagram but don’t want to go overboard with posting too much content every day, then creating an interesting caption could be enough without having too much clutter from adding extra words like “Hashtag” before each sentence (like “This house has been renovated recently.”). This method works well because most people won’t notice these extra words anyways – so why bother using them?
Realtor Profile Pictures
A real estate profile picture is the first thing people see when they visit your social media profile. It’s important that it be a good quality, professional-looking image that shows you in the best possible light. If you use an image of your logo instead of one with a photo of yourself, it will make it look like no one is running the account and could even make potential clients think that there’s something shady going on (even if there isn’t).
Make sure your profile is set up correctly. You want to ensure all the information about yourself (name, phone number, etc.) is correct on all platforms where you have an account so people can easily find out how to reach out for more information about buying/selling their home!
Use photos showing off both sides of who you are: expertise as well as personality! People need someone who knows what they’re doing but also someone who makes them feel comfortable enough talking about themselves when selling their home.”
Realtor Bio Section
When it comes to your bio, you want to make sure that it is clear and concise. You should also include links to your website, social media accounts, blog, or any other content you have created. It’s also a good idea to include a call-to-action in the form of an offer or something else that will entice readers into taking action on their own accord.
Realtor Posting Schedule
Post at least once a day. Posting content to your social media accounts more often than once daily is not only acceptable, it’s encouraged!
Post at different times of the day. You want to be sure you’re reaching people at various points in their day and throughout their week so that you can engage with them multiple times as they go about their lives. This will help ensure that they see your posts more frequently and don’t forget about them after one quick scroll down their feed (or two).
Post on weekends as well as weekdays: There are plenty of reasons why real estate agents should post on Saturdays and Sundays besides just being out showing properties all day–and those reasons include increased engagement due to less competition from other businesses sharing content during those days off work/school/etc., opportunities for cross-promotion between Instagram accounts (e.g., posting photos from Facebook onto Instagram), etc.!
Be active and consistent on social media!
Social media is a powerful tool for Realtors to use in their marketing strategy, but staying active and consistent is important. Your social media followers will expect you to post at least once a day, if not more often. A posting schedule will keep you organized so that you don’t miss any opportunities for engagement with your followers or potential customers.
The first step in creating an effective posting schedule is deciding how often you want to publish content on each platform (Facebook/Instagram/Twitter). For example: if I am going to post five times per week across all three platforms, then this means I will need 15 unique pieces of content each week (5 x 3). You can also choose different days of the week for each network–for example, Monday for Facebook; Tuesday for Instagram; Wednesday for Twitter, etc.–or stick with one set pattern across all networks, which may be easier if most of your clients are local anyway! Kickin Tip: If this is more than you can handle at the time, hire a social media manager to take care of all your posting! Not only will this save you hours each week it will also allow you to be consistent and grow!
Conclusion
The key to success on Instagram is being consistent and engaging. If you post regularly, your followers will know what to expect when they open your account. They’ll also be able to see that you care about them as individuals by responding to comments and questions regularly
